Pune: The College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, hosted its prestigious Convocation Ceremony on Thursday, celebrating the academic achievements of 35 commissioned officers.
The event, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), saw 11 officers receive M Tech degrees in Structural Engineering and 24 officers conferred B Tech degrees in Civil and Mechanical Engineering under the Technical Entry Scheme (TES).
The highlight of the CME Pune Convocation Ceremony was the keynote address by Prof Dr Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice Chancellor of JNU, who urged graduates to adopt emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and 3D Printing with integrity, ethical responsibility, and a spirit of Atmanirbharta (self-reliance). She praised the military engineers for their leadership potential and technical acumen in a rapidly evolving defence landscape.
Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, Sena Medal, Commandant of CME, inspired graduates to stay ahead of innovation and uphold the standards of engineering excellence in defence applications. Brigadier Ravi Reddy, Officiating Deputy Commandant and Dean of CME, presented the Academic Report for Spring Term 2025.
Award Highlights:
- Lt Col Neeraj Parmar received the Gold Medal and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief ARTRAC Award for topping the M.Tech (Structural Engineering) course.
- Lt Priyansh Mishra and Lt Anshuman Chaudhary earned top honours in B.Tech (Civil) and B.Tech (Mechanical), respectively.

Student officers also showcased innovative engineering projects tackling real-world defence infrastructure challenges using technologies like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and advanced construction techniques.
